Customer Paint Touch-UpsWe ask that you be prepared to so some light touch-up painting after we have left. We strive to be as careful as possible during our work, but some light touch-up painting may be necessary. Seasonal Effects on FloorsWood is a product of nature and as such reacts to environmental conditions. Therefore, we cannot guarantee against cupping or shrinkage of newly installed or previously existing floor boards. We cannot guarantee against environmental conditions which cause wood to expand or contact after the job has been completed. When such weather-related problems do occur, they can sometimes be considerably alleviated once the weather returns to normal, requiring significantly less or no repair to the floor. GuaranteesHeritage Hardwood Floor Co., is a licensed and bonded company and our workmanship is guaranteed for one year. Floor work is not furniture work; a finished floor cannot be compared to a table-top finish. All floors have their minor flaws, unique characteristics, high traffic areas, etc., and they are surfaces which are expected to undergo a great deal of wear and tear over time. When refinishing pre-existing floors, we cannot guarantee against pre-existing conditions, such as lifting, slash, or knots. Drying TimesAfter the final coat of finish has been applied, regular foot traffic can resume after 24 hours. It is necessary to wait two days before putting furniture back in the room. Please consult with us directly before putting area rugs back. Floor Cleaning and MaintenanceNEVER USE MURPHY'S OIL SOAP! This will make future recoatings with our finish impossible. Clean floors solely with our prescribed cleaner, or just a damp mop! Use A LIGHTLY DAMPENED MOP ONLY! Sweep or vacuum the floor as needed; grit acts like sandpaper against you floor's beautiful finish. We also urge the use of felt furniture pads. Our water-based finish may be touched up or recoated by the customer; containers of finish are available for sale from certain floor retail outlets. In the case of water-base finish, expect to recoat high-traffic areas annually. This will prolong floor life. Swedish finish should be recoated only by a professional due to the volatile nature of the product. Dust & Clean-UpWe will work with you to ensure the fewest possible problems with airborne dust. We will tape off openings with plastic and will vacuum horizontal surfaces in our work area. You should mask all smoke alarms because airborne dust can cause false alarms. The heating and cooling vents will not be masked, as we need the air circulation they provide to aid in the drying of the finish. We do recommend that you change your air filters once the work is completed. We make no guarantees on the total containment of dust. We ask that you be prepared to do some light clean-up after we have left. |
